Summer ends now; now, barbarous in beauty, the
Stooks arise

  1. Good question! we don’t see them around any more so that is why I put the pictures of the round bales in.

    they are sheaves of harvested grain stood upright in the fields for gathering on to a wagon. I’ve never seen it myself but that is what they did before the combine was invented.
