Chasing Shadows

sunrise81“A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows.”
–  St. Francis of Assisi

I will remember today the power of one sunbeam among the gray clouds to illuminate beauty hidden by darkness.

I will remember I can choose to be light or shadow.

I will remember the difference I can make.

  1. What a beautiful reminder Emily. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. Once again, I was on a break between patients and found your words just in time. When life is dark, He is the ray of light amidst the shadows. God bless!

  2. Addendum
I posted my comment too quickly and missed the message. We do not realize, I think, that we DO, indeed, make a difference. It doesn’t always have to be a big deal or a grandiose gesture. Just a smile for someone who is having a really bad day, helping an elderly women find her car in the parking lot, putting your arm around a small child who has just lost his ‘treat’ money down the sewer as he was crossing the street (giving him a hug and a tissue to dry the tears, and replacing his lost money, too), making eye contact with another person to confirm the often overlooked fact that we ARE connected, part of the WHOLE, on the same journey together.

Thank you, Emily for your words that remind us of the importance of one person’s actions.
