Fragrant Breath

You called, You shouted, and You broke through my deafness.
You flashed, You shone, and You dispelled my blindness.
You breathed Your fragrance on me;
I drew in breath and now I pant for You.

  1. The excerpt from Augustine’s Confessions reminds me so much of Psalm 139 and Francis Thompson’s The Hound of Heaven. All three are sensual pleadings of our giving God who searches for us so that He may give us the greatest gift we could ever know: His abiding Love.

    The roses are utter perfection and beauty to all who behold.
