  1. Hi Emily,

I would like to unsubscribe for a while. I’ll be going off the grid for a couple of weeks followed by several weeks out of the country. I’ll resubscribe when I return. Thanks as always for your words, images, and sentiments over the years. I’ve gifted your book to several people.

    With thanks, Kaylene Johnson-Sullivan

  2. Dearest Emily,

As you know your Barnstorming post has become my most-valued morning devotion.

  3. I don’t use other social media – I read your posts in my email. Not sure how many years I’ve been reading them – quite a few. I love the visual images. I’m always amazed and appreciative that you find poetry and music as part of your theme. We are nearly the same age and I can relate to many of your observations and sharing. Thank you for the love and work you put into your posts.

  4. You ever cease to amaze me with just the right combination of incredible photography, poetry, and music. We are exactly the same age, so somehow your musings are so parallel to my own that I think they came from me. I found you on the internet many years ago (I’ve lost track) and I follow you by way of your emails.

  5. What I have always loved is the gorgeous pictures and your use of them..they are primary for me! The pictures say it all, with minimum comment. But the poetry used so effectively is
another asset!, The longer the wording, the less the appeal..for me; and that could be very
personal..tired of words, entering the quietude of the shots..that’s what I value the most…

  6. Thank you, Ann! I agree there are simply too many words inundating us all so I do try to keep that minimal if I can. So glad to have your perspective! blessings, Emily

  7. Never know if you receive my comments! Really enjoy your blog! Kind of know the area since I’m Canadian but used to go to Lynden Christian a long time ago! Keep it up!

  8. Bert, my husband Dan remembers you from Lynden Christian (a few years behind you)! I haven’t seen a comment from you before but so good to hear from you now. I’ll keep trying not to let my blog go stale! blessings, Emily

  9. So sorry for the death of your friend. May she rest in peace.
    A beautiful reflection on a life well-lived.
