  2. Breathtaking. Literally. No human being could ever create and sustain such magnificence. Perhaps one of the greatest hurts that we can give to our Creator-God is to not appreciate and respect and care for the beauty and majesty that surrounds us. He created all of that awe-inspiring panorama upon our land, in our vast seas and in the very atmosphere around us for our pleasure and needs here on earth — and perhaps as a foretaste of what we will see and enjoy in His Home when our journey here ends? We too often take His gift — and Him — for granted. Worse: for decades we have allowed that beauty – and the existence of certain non-human life to disappear, never to return, and our atmosphere to be filled with poisoned toxins, causing needless deaths and our very climate to change, as a result of corporate greed, reckless land development, human indifference, lack of respect and gratitude – taking for granted that His magnificent gifts will always be there. Finally, finally, when it is already too late for much natural beauty and far too many species, we see what has been done and continues to occur unabated at a sometimes rapid rate – right before our eyes – through our apathy and inaction and by continuing regressive government legislation that was originally enacted to preserve what could be saved. Disappeared. Forever. What will be left for our children — and their children? Whom will be blame when our vital ‘quality of life’ becomes just one more victim and it is too late to replace, to reclaim what has been given to us in love and caring?
